The way that I have been taught is you would split the pair unless the total sum of the pair is 9 or less and you have and ace or king or if the sum of the pair is 15 or less and you have a single ace. I don’t really know what the rules are for splitting two pairs but that is the way it was explained to me.

I haven’t really had a chance to play this game so I don’t know all the rules but from what I have been reading online you are right about when to split up a pair. I’m sure you could always ask the dealer too and they may give you some tips.

Hi, Jacob, the decision of when to split two pair is mostly a matter of risk tolerance, each casino has their ” houseways ” which vary slightly based on that casino’s assesment of risk, either conservative or aggressive, so knowing their houseways would at least give you a good start, another reason for their particular houseway is that they’re playing against up to six other players, but to address your question more directly, I would recommend the following :  first categorize your pairs,  2’s - 6’s as LOW, 7’s - 10’s as MEDIUM, Jacks - Aces as HIGH, ( when you have 2 LOW pair with an Ace or King, play the A/K up and the 2 pair together, otherwise split, MEDIUM/LOW or MEDIUM/MEDIUM pairs, basically the same, only difference is just an Ace kicker not the King, HIGH pair with any other pair, automatic SPLIT, it’d be easier if I just posted our houseways, lol, anyway, I hope this helps
